Group trip planner
A group trip planner for friends and family.
WanderCrew is a group trip planner app for iOS and Android. Your crew adds ideas, builds one day-by-day itinerary together, and opens it on the road even without signal. The host subscribes to the Crew plan and invites up to 20 people, who join free. The beta opens in fall 2026.

Bring the ideas in
Start a trip with a name and dates, then invite the crew. Anyone with edit access can add a stop, a hike, or a place to eat to any day, with a note on why. Priya adds a bakery on the way into Zion with "trust me," and everyone sees it in the campfire, the feed of what the crew has been up to.
Settle the plan
The plan is a grid: days across the top, and rows for where you wake up, how you travel, what you're doing, where you sleep, cost per person, and links. Insert a day and every later date moves with it. Every edit saves on its own, and recent changes shows who changed what and what it said before.
Take it on the road
During the trip, the app opens on today: what's up next, where you're sleeping tonight, and one tap to directions. The shared packing list shows who's bringing what, each person keeps a private list of their own, and the whole plan works with no signal.
Keep it afterward
Finished trips stay in your list, with the notes and changes the crew made along the way. Send the public link to a friend who's planning the same route, or use the trip as a template for next year.
Who can do what
Not everyone on a trip wants to plan it. Roles let the planners plan and everyone else follow along without breaking anything.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything: edit the plan, invite and remove people, change roles, and manage the public link. |
| Editor | Edit the plan: days, stops, stays, costs, and the packing list. |
| Viewer | See the whole plan, tick the packing list, keep a private packing list, and add their own notes. |
| Public link | A read-only page in any web browser. No app, no account, hidden from search engines. |
Nothing gets lost when several people edit
Group spreadsheets have a familiar failure: someone fixes a check-in time, someone else pastes over it, and nobody notices until the front desk does. In WanderCrew each field saves on its own, so two people editing different parts of the same day don't collide.
When two people do change the same field, the later edit is kept. Recent changes lists every edit with who made it and what the field said before, so an overwritten value is a tap away from coming back.
Who pays for what
- Just you: free
- Unlimited trips on your phone with every planning screen: the day editor, route map, Today, and packing list. No account, and it works offline.
- Crew plan: the host subscribes
- An account with sync across the host's phone, tablet, and the web, plus up to 20 people on each trip, who join with free accounts. Roles, the campfire, recent changes, and the public link come with it. The price will be announced at launch.
That's the whole model. The host pays once for the crew, and a friend who wants to host their own trip brings their own plan.
What WanderCrew doesn't do
It's better to know before you invite six friends.
- No bookings. Book hotels, flights, and permits wherever you normally do, then put the confirmations on the day.
- No expense splitting. WanderCrew shows planned cost per person with a running total, but it doesn't track who paid or settle up. Splitwise does that well.
- No group chat or polls. Keep deciding things in your group chat, and let WanderCrew be where the decisions end up.
- No turn-by-turn navigation. Directions open in Apple Maps or Google Maps.
Quick answers
Questions about planning a trip together
- What is WanderCrew?
- WanderCrew is a group trip planner app for iOS and Android made by Fisherbird Software. A crew adds ideas, builds one day-by-day itinerary together, and follows it on the road with a Today screen, a route map, and directions to every stop. The whole trip is saved on each phone, so it works with no signal. The beta opens in fall 2026.
- What's a good app for planning a trip with friends?
- Pick based on what your group struggles with. For a map-first itinerary with place suggestions, many groups use Wanderlog. For tracking who owes whom, Splitwise. For a group that plans day by day, wants the plan readable on a phone, and travels where signal is patchy, WanderCrew was built for that case.
- Is WanderCrew free?
- Yes, on your phone: unlimited trips and every planning screen, with no account. The Crew plan is the one paid tier. It gives the host an account, sync across their devices, and room to invite up to 20 people onto a trip. The price will be announced at launch.
- Do my friends have to pay?
- No. Only the host of a shared trip subscribes to the Crew plan. Everyone they invite joins with a free account. A friend who wants to host a trip of their own needs their own Crew plan.
- How many people can plan a trip together?
- The host plus up to 20 invited people per trip on the Crew plan. Anyone beyond that can follow along on the trip's public read-only link.
- Can people see the trip without installing the app?
- Yes. Every trip can have a public link that opens a read-only version in a web browser, with no app and no account. It's hidden from search engines.
- What happens if two people edit the same thing?
- Each edit saves on its own, one field at a time, so two people changing different parts of a day don't affect each other. If two people change the same field, the later edit is kept, and recent changes shows the earlier value with who wrote it, so it can be put back.
- When can I start using WanderCrew?
- The beta opens in fall 2026, on iOS and Android at the same time. Invites go out in batches to people on the waitlist.
