Group trip planner for iOS and Android

Plan the trip together. Take it with you.

For the person who makes the spreadsheet, and everyone traveling with them. Build the plan day by day, then open it on the road, even with no signal. When you get home, the whole trip is still there.

Two ways to hold the same trip

One of you plans. Everyone goes.

The planner

If you make the spreadsheet

Days across the top, details down the side, the way you already plan. Import the sheet you started or paste cells from Google Sheets on the web, then keep editing on your phone.

The crew

If you're along for the ride

Join with a free account and open the app. It's already on today: what's next, where you're sleeping tonight, and directions to both in one tap.

How it works

A trip, start to finish.

1Imagine

Start with a rough idea and a few friends.

Most trips begin as a date range and a group text full of maybes. Start a trip in WanderCrew with a name and the dates, then invite the crew. Anyone can add the bakery they saw on a friend's feed or the hike they've wanted to do for years, with a note on why it's worth the stop. The campfire shows each idea as it comes in, so nobody has to scroll back through the chat to find it.

  • Start with a name and dates, fill in the rest later
  • Everyone adds ideas, with a note on why
  • Borrow a friend's finished trip as your starting point

Inviting a crew comes with the Crew plan. The host subscribes, and everyone invited joins with a free account.

2Plan

Days across the top. The details down the side.

Once the ideas settle, the plan takes the shape group trips have always had: a spreadsheet. Each day is a column. The rows hold where you wake up, how you get there, what you're doing, where you sleep, and the cost per person with a running total. On the web, import the sheet you already started or paste cells straight from Google Sheets. On your phone, edit one day at a time with the same rows.

  • Import a spreadsheet, or paste from Google Sheets
  • Insert a day and every later date moves with it
  • See who changed what, and what it said before

How the spreadsheet planner works

3Travel

Open it in the car and it's already on today.

On the road, WanderCrew opens on the Today screen: what's next, where you're sleeping tonight, and what the crew has been up to. The route map follows the trip day by day, and one tap sends any stop to Apple Maps or Google Maps for directions. The plan is saved on your phone, so it still works at the bottom of a canyon with no bars.

  • A route map of the whole trip, day by day
  • Directions to any stop or stay in one tap
  • Works offline, and edits sync once you have signal

How offline works

4Home again

The trip doesn't disappear when you unpack.

Finished trips stay in your list with every day, stop, and note the crew added along the way. Months later you can look up the name of that diner in Vernal, see who talked everyone into the dirt road to Tower Arch, or send the whole itinerary to a friend who's going next year. When you want to go back, copy the trip and change the parts you'd do differently.

  • Every past trip, kept on your phone
  • The crew's notes and changes, with names attached
  • Share the finished plan, or reuse it as a template

The only plan For the host

Crew

One subscription price lands at launch

For the host. Everyone else comes along free.

  • Everything in Just you
  • An account, with sync across your phone, tablet, and the web
  • Up to 20 people on each trip, joining with free accounts
  • Editor and viewer roles, the campfire, recent changes, and the public link

That's the whole pricing page. There are no tiers to compare and no per-seat math. The host subscribes and the crew joins free. A friend who wants to host their own trip brings their own plan.

Also in the bag

The small things that go wrong on a group trip, handled.

  • Shared gear, and a list of your own.

The crew's shared gear goes on one list that shows who's bringing each thing, with one checkmark everyone sees. Your own list sits beside it and stays private. The trailhead stops being where you find out nobody packed the water shoes.

  • Built for the quieter trail.

Every hike carries a crowd level: quiet, moderate, or busy. The crew can tell the famous trail from the one with fewer footprints before anyone agrees to a 5am start.

  • Offline, all the way.

The whole trip is saved on your phone as soon as you open it. Airplane mode changes nothing, and edits you make in the canyon sync once you're back in range.

  • Recent changes, with the old value.

Every edit records who made it, when, and what the field said before. An overwritten check-in time can be put back in a tap.

  • A public link for everyone else.

A read-only page for the grandparents, the house-sitter, and anyone else not on the trip. No app, no account, and hidden from search engines.

  • Borrow a trip, or reuse your own.

Start from a friend's itinerary, or copy last year's trip and change the parts you'd do differently.

Our story

Every group trip starts as somebody's spreadsheet.

One person does the research and pastes links into a Google Sheet. The group chat weighs in for a day, then scrolls past it. Two weeks later someone asks "wait, where are we staying Tuesday?" and nobody can find the answer, least of all from the passenger seat with no signal.

We kept living that loop, so we built the tool we wanted. WanderCrew takes the spreadsheet you already know how to make and turns it into a trip the whole crew can open. It has a place to trade ideas before anything is booked, a Today screen for the car, and a packing list that says who's bringing what. When you get home, the trip is still there.

We're a married couple running a small, self-funded studio in Northern Virginia, and we travel together a lot. The beta opens this fall on iOS and Android. Questions any time: info@fisherbirdsoftware.com.

Quick answers

WanderCrew in a few answers.

What is WanderCrew?
WanderCrew is a group trip planner app for iOS and Android, made by Fisherbird Software. Friends and family share ideas, build a day-by-day itinerary together in a spreadsheet-style planner, and follow it on the road with a Today screen, a route map, and directions to every stop. The whole trip is saved on your phone, so it works with no signal, and finished trips stay in the app.
When is WanderCrew available?
The beta opens in fall 2026 on iOS and Android at the same time. Invites go out in batches to people on the waitlist.
How much does WanderCrew cost?
It's free on your phone, with unlimited trips and no account. The Crew plan is the only paid tier: the host of a shared trip subscribes, gets sync across their devices, and invites up to 20 people, who join with free accounts. The price will be announced at launch.
What kinds of trips is WanderCrew for?
Multi-day trips planned by a group: national park road trips, family trips with flights and hotels, ski weekends, and a week away with friends. It works best when the plan has days, stops, and places to sleep, and when you'll need it somewhere the signal is unreliable.
What doesn't WanderCrew do?
It doesn't book hotels or flights, split expenses between people, or give turn-by-turn directions. Directions open in Apple Maps or Google Maps, and bookings go wherever you normally make them.
