Wanderlog alternative
Looking for a Wanderlog alternative?
Wanderlog is the planner most people try first, and it earns that. It's great at finding places, pulling in bookings, and planning with friends for free. WanderCrew is built around a different moment: the planner works in a day-by-day spreadsheet, and the crew opens that trip on their phones with no signal. Here's how the two compare.

- Choose Wanderlog for finding places, travel guides, importing flight and hotel confirmations by email, route optimization, and free group planning.
- Choose WanderCrew if you plan in rows and columns, want the whole trip on your phone with no signal without paying for it, and want a Today screen that shows only what's next.
- WanderCrew is not a discovery app. It holds the plan your crew makes. It doesn't suggest places.

When Wanderlog is the better fit
If you don't know yet what you want to see, Wanderlog is the stronger tool. It suggests places, has guides written by other travelers, and puts everything on a map as you go. Forward a flight or hotel confirmation and it lands in the trip. Wanderlog also lets you plan with as many friends as you like without anyone paying.
It's also available today. WanderCrew's beta opens in fall 2026.
When WanderCrew is the better fit
Most group trips we've taken started as somebody's spreadsheet. The planner puts dates across the top and fills in flights, drives, hikes, and hotels. WanderCrew keeps that grid on the web, down to pasting cells from Google Sheets and importing an Excel file.
Then it hands the same trip to the crew. On the phone, the trip opens on today: what's up next, where you're sleeping tonight, and one tap to open any stop in your maps app. The whole trip is saved on the phone, including the map, so it keeps working on the canyon road where the bars disappear. That's part of the free version, not an upgrade.
Moving a trip over
There's no direct Wanderlog import. If your plan is already in a spreadsheet, paste it into WanderCrew's web planner or import the Excel file; the spreadsheet trip planner page walks through it. Otherwise, add the days by hand. Your Wanderlog trip stays right where it is either way.
Wanderlog is a trademark of its respective owner. WanderCrew is an independent product of Fisherbird LLC and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Wanderlog.
Quick answers
Questions about switching from Wanderlog
- What's a good Wanderlog alternative?
- It depends on why you're leaving. If your group plans in a spreadsheet and needs the trip on their phones with no signal, WanderCrew is built for that: a day-by-day grid on the web, and a Today screen and route map on the phone. If you want help finding places or organizing bookings, Wanderlog is still one of the strongest options.
- Does Wanderlog work offline?
- Wanderlog's help center lists saving trip plans for offline access as a Wanderlog Pro feature. In WanderCrew, the whole trip is saved on the phone on the free version: the plan, the trip map, Today, and the packing list all work with no signal.
- Is WanderCrew cheaper than Wanderlog for a group?
- Not necessarily. Wanderlog lets you plan with as many friends as you like for free. In WanderCrew, planning on your own phone is free, and sharing a trip needs the host's Crew plan. Invited people join free, and the price will be announced at launch.
- Can I move a Wanderlog trip into WanderCrew?
- There's no direct Wanderlog import. WanderCrew imports Excel files and cells pasted from Google Sheets, so the path is to get your plan into a spreadsheet with days across the top first. For most trips it's quicker to rebuild the days by hand.
- Does WanderCrew suggest places to visit?
- No. WanderCrew holds the plan you and your crew make. It doesn't recommend attractions, restaurants, or hotels. If discovery is the hard part, Wanderlog's suggestions and guides are a real advantage.
- Can I use Wanderlog and WanderCrew together?
- Yes. Some groups will research places in Wanderlog or a map app and then build the day-by-day plan in WanderCrew for the trip itself. WanderCrew also opens every stop in your phone's maps app for directions.
Build it like a spreadsheet. Follow it on the road.
